It's almost time for EA to drop the latest Battlefield 1 DLC on the world. Typical rules apply, Premium Pass and Deluxe Upgrade people will get 2-week early access. The rest of us schlubs can play the DLC at a later date... I say later because EA has not announced an official release date for the DLC at all. Seems kind of odd and is either related to marketing (for upgrades) or because they are unsure if the devs will be ready at an exact date.
In any event, the new DLC will feature four new maps, the French army (eh...), a new game mode, a new Behemoth, an Assault Tank Gun, a new soldier class, a new stationary weapon, two new campaign (single player) missions, new weapons, new ranks and unlocks.
The new maps are:
- Verdun Heights
- Fort De Vaux
New game mode:
Frontlines (not to be confused by the game Frontlines that was good in beta but sucked on release...): EA describes it thusly: Experience a mix of Conquest and Rush as you fight for chained control points in a tug-of-war frontline. Both teams fight for one flag at a time and when this objective is captured the action moves on to the next. Capture the enemy’s HQ control point and the game turns into a Rush-style section where telegraph posts need to be attacked or defended.
New Behemoth: Char 2C tank. Super heavy armored beast mode tank.
New Assault Tank Gun: St. Chamond super heavy tank with a big gun up front.
New Class: Trench Raider Elite comes with a Raider club and some grenades to beat you up close.
New Stationary Weapon: Siege Howitzer that acts like a giant mortar and has a lack of control just like the mortars.
New Operations: The Devil's Anvil and Beyond the Marne. Single player stuff for when you can't connect or are tired of getting owned by haxors. It happens.
New Guns: The Ribeyrolles 1918, RSC 1917, Lebel Model 1886, Chauchat, Sjögren Inertial, and the MLE 1903 Extended. Experience physical immersion of the brutal.
New melee weapons: The Cogwheel Club, the Nail Knife and the Trench Fleur.
